Pathfinder 3rd grade Women in African American History

LO: There is very little mention of women of influence in  African American History.  Your lesson is to search for one women from the past that made great impact and one from the present.  Below are examples of resource of these  women.
Student Objective:Reading/Comprehension of Literary Text/Literary Nonfiction. Students understand, make inferences and draw conclusions about the varied structural patterns and features of literary nonfiction and respond by providing evidence from text to support their understanding. Students are expected to explain the difference in point of view between a biography and autobiography.
DOL: Students will have the option to create a diorama of one specific female in history, research paper comparison of old and new female historian, powerpoint comparison, or poster comparison.
